The 1. FC Magdeburg temporarily took over the league lead of the 2nd Bundesliga despite a draw. Baris Atik managed the lead in the fifth minute with a shot from the penalty area. In front of 27,863 spectators, Lino Tempelmann (69th) marked the completely surprising balance from the penalty point.
After the quick 1-0, in which Braunschweig’s goalkeeper Ron-Thorben Hoffmann was powerless, only the host played.
