The National Audiovisual Institute (KAVI) has raised the age limit for the movie Sonic the Hedgehog 3 based on audience feedback.
The new age limit is 12 years, KAVI informs.
Originally, the age limit was 7 years.
In KAVI’s view, the action adventure, which combines familiar animated characters from the games with the movie, contains a lot of action violence presented in an unrealistic context.
The film also has a fairly strong threat of violence and death, as well as a depiction of losing a loved one.
The film also has humor and animated characters that lighten the mood, but the whole is strong enough that KAVI felt it necessary to raise the age limit of the film.
The age limit can be relaxed by a maximum of three years if the child is accompanied by an adult during the entire screening of the film.
