ASML has invited Elon Musk as a speaker during an internal conference. The result is a storm of negative reactions on an internal communication channel of the chip machine manufacturer, reports the Eindhovens Dagblad.
The gist is that ASML should not offer the controversial American a platform. The company, writes the Eindhovens Dagblad. should not associate with the person Musk, because, according to employees, his views are at odds with ASML’s core values.
Musk is announced in an internal document as a ‘keynote speaker’. He will be heard during the closed technology conference for employees that ASML will hold in Den Bosch next Thursday.
“Musk will share his vision on AI, robotics, space travel and chip manufacturing,” the announcement said. The man behind Tesla and space company SpaceX will have a virtual conversation with ASML CEO Christophe Fouquet.
