If you have the dream of becoming a professional footballer, One of us is the answer for you. An innovative project that aims to transform desire into reality. Every year an amateur footballer has the opportunity to turn professional through an app and several on-field tryouts, under the supervision of some high-level scouts. Ask Flavio Morini, the latest winner of the talent show, who through a series of videos published on the app showed off himself to the point of becoming a new Genoa player. The selections have been active since October: the final will be held in July, one of the 30 finalists will be selected for a new professional contract with Grifone. Here’s everything you need to know.
This is a project born from the collaboration between One of Us and the Gazzetta dello Sport, which offers young footballers from all over Italy the opportunity to get noticed and cultivate the dream of becoming professionals.
It is a project that connects young sporting talents with the professional world, offering them the opportunity to show their skills. Through an app, kids can upload videos of their performances, participate in challenges, access exclusive content and be selected for auditions. One of Us offers a concrete chance to anyone who wants to get involved.
You can register if you are a citizen of the European Union and aged between 16 and 35. After downloading the app and creating your personal profile, you have three options: Free Player, where you can upload a video to show off all your talent, visible to the community and the One Of Us team. Future Player, where you will have access to exclusive features, including the ability to upload up to 9 videos. Plus, you’ll be able to participate in in-app challenges and access exclusive content. The third option is called YourChance: you will be able to directly participate in an on-field tryout, bypassing the competition, to live a professional experience and show how much you are worth under the watchful eyes of the scouts.
Who won last year?
Flavio Morini, central defender born in 2007 who has signed a professional contract with Genoa. He started with swimming, discovered One of Us via TikTok, signed up, uploaded the videos and, after a long selection, was awarded as the winner of the talent show. Today he plays for Grifone’s Under 18 team.
What is the path for those who sign up?
The players who stand out on the pitch for their talent and determination advance to the semi-finals, where they will challenge the other candidates in technical-tactical tests and practice matches. Only the best make it to the grand final, a high-level event that showcases talent in front of a jury made up of industry experts and observers from professional clubs.
The Main Partner is Under Armour, an American sports clothing company. As a footballer there is Nicola Ventola, already the protagonist of some challenges that you can see on the One of Us Instagram page. The influencers involved, however, are ZW Jackson and ZMilano.
