There is a change in the board of SaiPa’s background company Liiga-SaiPa oy. According to the release Ville Rämä leaves the board.

SaiPa was sold in March 2024 to Lätkä Lentää oy, whose background was, among others, Rämä.

Rämä had to capitalize SaiPa with a total of 700,000 euros. Iltalehti reported on Tuesday that despite the agreement, Rämä has not made the investment of 561,000 euros. The investment had to be made by December 31.

SaiPa confirmed the matter in its press release on Thursday. Rämä’s continued investment commitment of 561,000 euros was not fulfilled by the deadline, so Rämä continues with his original stake in Lätkä Lentää oy.

– Liiga-SaiPa’s operational result has improved significantly compared to last season, which is why there is no acute need for funding. Equity is well over a million plus. If the situation changes, the main owner Lätkä Lentää oy is ready to react, SaiPa’s board chairman Jussi Turunen says in the announcement.

Arrangement

Lätkä Lentää oy, which bought SaiPa, raised 1.8 million euros in funding for the club.

In the arrangement, the current shareholders provided a loan of approximately 1.2 million euros as bridge financing. Rämä’s share was 139,000 euros.

The loans were converted into an investment in Lätkä Lentää oy’s equity. The lenders again received a share of the limited company in accordance with the amount of money. In this arrangement, Rämä’s commitment was supposed to be 561,000 euros, which was not received.

According to information from Iltalehti, SaiPa’s financial situation is not in danger because of this.
