Fenerbahçe made its first reinforcement in the centre-back area during the interim transfer period. The yellow-dark blue team announced that a 3.5-year contract was signed with 31-year-old Brazilian defender Diego Carlos from the English Premier League team Aston Villa. In the statement made on the official website of Fenerbahçe regarding the issue, “Our club has reached an agreement with its club Aston Villa and the player for the transfer of Diego Carlos. Brazilian defender Diego Carlos signed a contract binding him to the yellow-dark blue colors for 3.5 years. Diego Carlos ‘ “Welcome to our family,” it said, and we wish many victories and championships with our yellow-dark blue team.
Speaking after the signing, Carlos said, “I am very happy to be here, I will do everything I can for this club.”
The Brazilian defender played in 17 competitions in all competitions for Aston Villa this season.
