A new wildfire broke out in northwest Los Angeles on Wednesday near Castaic Lake, a reservoir about sixty kilometers from the city. The Hughes fire has already destroyed an area of 38 square kilometers. More than 31,000 people have been issued evacuation orders and another 23,000 people are under evacuation warnings, the Los Angeles sheriff’s office said.
