From rock to pop and from house to Dutch. Something for everyone at the 17th edition of the Boerenrockfestival in Drouwenermond. One of the largest editions to date is scheduled for August 14 to 17. With new parts such as a truck cross and a larger campsite.

Artists from the Netherlands and abroad will perform this year, including Mooi Wark, Bökkers, Paul Elstak, Marco Schuitmaker, The Dirty Daddies, Outsiders, The Wetnecks, Corry Konings, Peter Koelewijn, Stuk Live, and Henk Wijngaard. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. “More major national artists will be announced in the coming weeks,” says organizer Rene Boiten.

On Sunday, during the family day, the M&M band accompanies the live performances of André Hazes, Tino Martin and Mart Hoogkamer. Kris Kross Amsterdam is on the program to conclude the festival.

“Party from start to finish, that is our goal,” says co-organizer Roelof Timmermans.

On day two, Friday, the motorized spectacle starts with the enduro, where participants of all ages can participate with their quad or motorcycle without a license plate. There is also the Farmer Trek.

Saturday and Sunday are all about the Boerenrockcross, with the leutjes class, moped cross, lawn mower races, bangerstox, the tricycle class, the madhouse class and the new truck cross. “With Henk Wijngaard on the podium as the Netherlands’ most famous truck driver, a truck cross could not be missed,” said Boiten.

With tens of thousands of visitors once again heading to the Peat Colonies in August, the organization hopes to be a great showcase for the area.

“We don’t really need to grow very much, we think it’s especially important that people can enjoy the music in a pleasant way. ‘Just act normal, then you’ll act crazy enough’ is our slogan. A good example of this is that Children up to the age of 12 can still enter for free,” says Boiten.

RTV Drenthe will be present live on all four days and report on the event. There is a large, cozy festival campsite for visitors who want to enjoy it to the fullest.

New this year is the Boerenrockfestival 2025 app, in which the line-up, program and practical information can be found. “With the app, visitors always have an overview and the latest updates at hand,” says co-organizer Marjon Boiten.
