A top chess player explains in the large hall of the café what the grandmasters do in De Moriaan. Stefan Kuipers, together with presenter Tom Bottema, tries to analyze the game with a livestream. “The tournament has always been blessed with spectacular matches,” says Kuipers.
It is notable that the livestream is not live. The game is analyzed with a 15 minute delay. This is to ensure that everything is done ‘fairly’. “You have to guarantee the purity of the game. When the moves are live, someone can give certain signals to the top players. That would not be fair.”
