The budget of €74 million for the subsidy scheme for the Incentive Construction and Maintenance of Sports Facilities (BOSA) for 2025 has been exceeded. On January 13, 2,503 applications had been submitted with an application value of more than €97 million.
The application portal for the BOSA subsidy scheme closes as soon as the total requested subsidy amount reaches 155% of the budget. This is included in the scheme. This margin before closing the application portal prevents unnecessary new applications from being submitted and future applicants from having a false sense of certainty with regard to their application. This means that the application portal will be closed as soon as €114.7 million in subsidy has been applied for in 2025.
State Secretary Vincent Karremans: “It is good to see that sports clubs have been able to find the subsidy scheme well and quickly. As a result, demand already exceeds BOSA’s budget. That is why the government has ensured that amateur sports organizations can also use a larger subsidy scheme for sustainability measures in 2025, namely the DUMAVA.”
Subsidy scheme for sustainable social real estate (DUMAVA)
In 2025, sports clubs can choose whether they want to rely on BOSA or DUMAVA for sustainability measures. The DUMAVA scheme provides owners of existing social real estate with the costs of making them more sustainable. The DUMAVA subsidy scheme will open on Monday, June 2, 2025 and has a subsidy budget of €345 million. More information about DUMAVA is here to find.
More information about the differences between both schemes can be found here here to find.
In addition to the opening of the DUMAVA, VWS, together with the ministries of VRO and KGG, is also looking at how, based on the report “Amateur sport fit for the future”, the sustainability of sport can be permanently stimulated, which will also improve the continuity and affordability of sports clubs are promoted.
