1. FC Nürnberg has awarded defensive talent Nick Seidel with a professional contract. The 20-year-old has played his way into the professional ranks in recent months, for whom he made his debut on September 29th. Since then, three more games have followed in the 2nd Bundesliga. Seidel came to the club last summer from Karlsruher SC’s youth team, where he was initially planned as a prospect player for the U23s.

“Nick integrated himself into our professional team in a very short time, accepted his role and did something every day to develop further in training with the professionals. It is further proof of the permeability and the path that can be taken with us. After his first appearances in the first half of the season and his achievements so far, a young player like him has earned a professional contract,” said sports director Joti Chatzialexiou.

Sports director Olaf Rebbe added: “When we were able to convince Nick to move to us in the summer together with our colleagues from the club’s youth team, we showed him a plan for his development into a professional. This went faster than expected, which we are very happy about. We look forward to continuing to work with him on his development over the next few years.”
