Jan-Niklas Beste doesn’t go beyond the joker role at Benfica SL and has recently been linked to various Bundesliga clubs, including Borussia Mönchengladbach and RB Leipzig. According to information from “Sky”, SC Freiburg is currently in pole position for the 26-year-old left winger. However, there he would have to compete with Freiburg’s top scorer Vincenzo Grifo (31).

In his first Bundesliga season, Beste showed outstanding performances and was instrumental in Heidenheim’s entry into the Conference League with eight goals and 13 assists. In the summer he moved to Benfica SL for 8 million euros, where he cannot get past Kerem Aktürkoğlu (26) and Álvaro Carreras (21) in both midfield and defense. In 22 appearances he was on the pitch for 815 minutes and only started eight times. In the most recent update, its market value fell by one million euros to 14 million euros. The Portuguese are demanding a transfer fee of 12 million euros.
After the departure of Noah Weißhaupt (23), Freiburg is looking for alternatives to top scorer Grifo. The 23-year-old homegrown player moved to FC St. Pauli on loan as he barely played behind the Italian. The 31-year-old is showing good performances again this season and was involved in twelve goals in 18 Bundesliga games. Grifo was not in the starting line-up in only one game.
