On December 5, 2024, the House of Representatives adopted a motion to extend the capital appreciation scheme. The value increase scheme (or: Value Increase subsidy) is a subsidy for residents of Groningen and North Drenthe with earthquake damage. With this scheme, residents with damage can apply for a subsidy of up to €4,000 for sustainability measures.

The current scheme expires on February 1, 2025. State Secretary Van Marum extends the value increase scheme until December 31, 2025 in unchanged form. The previous budget has not yet been drawn up and will be used for the extension. It is expected that replacement schemes will be available before then. If that is the case, the appreciation scheme will expire at an earlier time. The ministry will then let you know clearly and in a timely manner when the value increase scheme will expire, what schemes will replace it and how residents can make use of them.
