As a TV maker, Martine van Os thinks she sees that B&B Vol Liefde has largely been staged. “That is more put together and pre-cooked than other programs,” she sneers.
67-year-old Martine van Os not only makes television, but also enjoys watching it. She is especially a fan of quizzes such as Met Het Mes Op Tafel, but also enjoys real-life TV. “Just like We’re Almost There. Programs where you see ordinary people experiencing ordinary things and which are very recognizable,” she explains in an interview with Weekend.
Put together
For example, Martine also likes to watch B&B Vol Liefde. “Yes, I like that too. Although it is more put together and pre-cooked than other programs. More than you think, I think.”
“I think there is a fair amount of casting going on as far as the B&B holders are concerned and that careful consideration is also being given to who may appear as love candidates.”
Types
It seems that the makers are very focused on certain types, says Martine. “Yes, exactly. People who are high-profile or with whom something is going on. But I think it is very well made, it is well put together. It’s also very entertaining, I’d say.”
Finally: how were the recent recordings of We Are Almost There? “It was fine. However, shortly after the trip ended, two participants died. We have never experienced that before, it was quite a shock for all of us. You’ve built a bond after all.”
