Divided into twenty classes, 368 students of SG De Dijk secondary school from Medemblik collected money for the war victims from Ukraine today. More than 2000 euros to be exact.
The target amount of 2025 euros was not chosen by chance. It is exactly the distance from high school to Kiev, the capital of Ukraine. The students of SG De Dijk have the option of walking five kilometers or cycling ten kilometers. The school has linked the action to GIRO 555† The target amount has already been reached.

Jonas (13) is one of the students who is cycling ten kilometers today, in order to raise money for Ukraine. He gets a lot from the war, because his father trades in tulips and some of his company’s customers live in Ukraine. “It’s just bizarre how that happens there,” says Jonas.

She believes that Ukrainians should be brought to the Netherlands as soon as possible. “It feels nice to be able to do something for them in this way.”
