The winter transfer phase is underway and the German clubs are in the middle of it. Rumors and fixed changes from the world of football can be found here.
With the beginning of 2025, the transfer window opened in the Bundesliga and other European leagues. In Germany the transfer period ends on February 3rd. After that, players can still move abroad, provided the leagues there have a later transfer deadline.
Which clubs are most in need of reinforcements, what is FC Bayern doing and what is the situation at the top European clubs? These and many other questions will be answered this transfer winter. At t-online you can find an overview of the most important guesses and changes from Germany and the world.
VfL Wolfsburg is strengthening itself for the coming season with Australian international Sharn Freier. The 23-year-old offensive player is moving from Brisbane Roar to the German cup winners and has signed a three-year contract.
Freier was on the pitch at both the Olympic Games last summer and an international match against the DFB team in October. “I’m already looking forward to moving to VfL Wolfsburg and am excited about the experience of playing in a league outside of Australia for the first time,” she explained. The prospect of becoming part of such a successful club with numerous top players fills her with pride and gratitude.
The Bundesliga third-place team is therefore looking for a successor to Marmoush. According to consistent media reports, Elye Wahi is one of Frankfurt’s possible new additions. As the pay-TV channel Sky and “Sport Bild” report, among others, the club is looking for a young player who can perform immediately.
Wahi, currently under contract with Olympique Marseille, is only 22 years old and would fit Eintracht’s profile perfectly. The only problem: He signed with the French until 2029. Marseille are also likely to demand a lot of money after Wahi signed him in the summer for 25 million euros. According to reports, Frankfurt is currently not prepared to pay that much.
The signing of Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush is not yet perfect, but Manchester City has already spent a lot of money in France. England’s struggling champions announced on Monday the purchase of young Uzbek star Abdukodir Khusanov from RC Lens. Read more about this here.
Football superstar Neymar is about to return home. According to consistent media reports, the 32-year-old has reached an agreement with FC Santos. However, his current employer, Al-Hilal, has to agree to immediate release without severance pay despite his contract still being valid for six months. The offensive star was no longer registered for the second half of the Saudi Pro League.
