A motorist drove into the water on the Kanaaldijk in Breda. A passerby saw it happen and called the emergency services. They came out en masse.
Just before the car had completely sunk, the driver was able to leave the car through the trunk. The driver was checked in the ambulance, but escaped unhurt. The driver did not have to go to the hospital.
The motorist appears to have been very lucky. It is pitch dark on the Kanaaldijk in the evening and there is little traffic passing by.
