The victim was found in a deep ditch along the road. After resuscitation by a MUG doctor, the woman was taken to hospital in critical condition.
At the accident site there is no cycle path and no lighting, which made it more difficult to locate the victim.
The 25-year-old driver from Poperinge was not under the influence and was taken to hospital in shock. The public prosecutor’s office appointed an expert who carried out a reconstruction.
