Tuesday and Thursday at the Assago Forum, days full of events for the children of the Arcadia Comprehensive Institute of Gratosoglio
This week the 38 clubs participating in the Euroleague and EuroCup celebrated the “One Team Games” with initiatives aimed at raising awareness and highlighting the social responsibility projects that the companies themselves carry out in the area. And so on Tuesday and Thursday Olimpia Milano and the Laureus Sport for Good Italia Foundation promoted a rich calendar of events in favor of the children of the Istituto Comprensivo Arcadia in Gratosoglio, on the southern outskirts of Milan. On Thursday, in particular, 34 boys and girls accompanied by their teachers traveled in minibuses made available by Scalo Milano Outlet & More from their school to the Unipol Forum. There, after having lunch, they played bowling in the belly of the sports hall and then visited the company headquarters. Their training on the pitch was then joined by Ousmane Diop, one of the three new ambassadors (along with Giampaolo Ricci and Shavon Shields) of the One Team project for the 2024-25 season. Diop also answered questions from children in the press room. From the sidelines the kids from the Gratosoglio institute watched their idols training and the pre-match warm-up. But it didn’t end there: before the tap-off between Olimpia Milano and Partizan Belgrade, they took to the field at the time of the presentation of the players of the two teams, enlivened the long interval with group activities and finally in the “Meet&Greet” at the end match they met the Olimpia Milano players. Only two days earlier, however, as many as 160 children from the first classes of lower secondary school, also from the Arcadia Comprehensive Institute, witnessed Olimpia training from the stands, in absolute silence, just a few hours before the match against Alba Berlin. Players and children were then immortalized in a souvenir photo in midfield. In short, it was two days full of activities that allowed the boys and girls participating in the project to live an unforgettable experience in the world of ball, in close contact with many champions. The “One Team” project, in its seventh year and multi-awarded by the Euroleague, aims to enrich the emotional, psychological and physical sphere of children, supporting them in their growth path, in the acquisition of the life skills necessary to face everyday life and in the development of their emotional, psychological and motor skills.
