Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen and girlfriend Kelly Pique are the proud owners of a new luxury yacht this week. As reported by Italian media, the couple visited the coastal town of Viareggio a few days ago to pick up the Mangusta yacht.
Verstappen commissioned his new vehicle around two years ago. The yacht has now been set up and handed over according to the Formula 1 star’s wishes. According to consistent reports, the boat was christened “Unleash the Lion.”
Verstappen pays double-digit million sum
The new lion in the Verstappen stable belongs to the Italian yacht builder’s GranSport33 series and is a total of 33 meters long. Nothing is officially known about the purchase price. This is often significantly influenced by the specifications that the new owner wants. Models of the same yacht type usually cost from 12 million euros and up.
It is also not known where the “Unleash the Lion” will be located in the future. Verstappen and Pique have not yet publicly commented on the purchase of the yacht. According to local media, their visit to Italy was carried out in great secrecy and as anonymously as possible.
Verstappen has now risen in the circle of Formula 1 yacht owners thanks to his new toy, but the top of the food chain is out of reach for the Dutchman. Aston Martin owner Lawrence Stroll and his son Lance are standing there, who commissioned the construction of a new super yacht in 2021, which is scheduled for delivery in 2025 and will be 80 meters long. Cost: well beyond 100 million euros.
