It doesn’t really make sense to me why Neumann is signing today. It is by no means certain that Birmingham will be promoted to the second division. If things go badly, he’ll be promoted to the Bundesliga, only to then move to the 3rd league in England for a little more salary (if at all). In one of the ugliest cities in Europe – but that’s subjective and off-topic.
If Neumann only performed halfway in the second half of the season, he would have had no problem finding a place at a Bundesliga club like Augsburg or any English second division club. Well, he’ll have his reasons. I’m curious to hear what he himself has to say about it.
