The match between TOP Oss and Roda JC in the Kitchen Champion Division was stopped twice because fireworks were thrown onto the field.
The referee briefly stopped the match for the first time after the sixteenth minute, because objects had been thrown onto the field in the stadium in Oss.
The match continued until home team supporters threw fireworks onto the field five minutes before half-time. A flare landed in the five-meter area and caused a burn spot in the artificial grass surface. All players were now called inside.
Roda JC had made it 1-0 moments earlier. After a break, the referee decided to first play the last three minutes of the first half and then start the second half.
Angry banners
The supporters of TOP Oss had already announced protest actions. These are said to be aimed at the club’s policy on away matches. TOP Oss has drawn up stricter rules for supporters, because things have already gone wrong a number of times.
A Roda JC banner can also be seen in the audience, with the text: ‘ban cars the day before, then park on the field today’. The municipality of Oss has obliged away fans to travel to the stadium by bus a day in advance. The fans clearly disagree with that.
