When tickets for the knockout games started going on sale, seats for third place at the top of the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey were initially available. A card there should cost at least 613.25 US dollars, with taxes that’s 650 US dollars, or around 630 euros. The official prices in the third tier are up to 1,181 US dollars, i.e. around 1,150 euros.

The better places were largely not yet available. On Friday morning, through an officially approved resale, there were some seats in the lower tier in the range between 4,000 and 6,000 euros on the ticket provider platform used by FIFA. The final game of the 2026 World Cup will also take place in the stadium near New York.

“Dynamic pricing” is intended to ensure high income

For the Club World Cup, FIFA uses the principle of dynamic pricing, which evaluates supply and demand, as is known when booking hotels, flights or trains. FIFA is hoping for the highest possible revenue from the tournament.

The tournament stalled for a long time when it came to marketing sponsorship and broadcast rights. FIFA recently announced some sponsors. And found a media partner in DAZN who was willing to pay around a billion US dollars for the broadcast rights for the two tournaments in 2025 and 2029. At the same time, there are reports that the Saudi Arabian sovereign wealth fund is investing $1 billion in DAZN. Saudi Arabia was awarded the 2034 World Cup for national teams in December.

Dortmund and Bayern announced ticket prices for their fans

Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich have already announced the prices for their group games. The prizes in the two categories vary depending on the opponent and are consistently in three figures in one category.
