Alba fights back
The start of the game was initially quite even. But the Berliners had some problems when Villeurbanne picked up the pace. There were always big gaps in the guests’ defense. In addition, they were often left behind when it came to rebounding. At the end of the first quarter, the hosts were able to pull away for the first time.
After the break, Alba came out of the locker room better, and the Berliners even took the lead for the first time just six minutes before the end (74:72). And it stayed tight until the end.
Malte Delow equalized 85:85 with a three-point throw seven seconds before the end, but then missed a free throw for a possible victory. The hosts had better nerves in extra time.
