Thorsten Mindermann becomes managing director of Iris von Arnim.

Thorsten Mindermann, the former regional manager for the Central Europe region of the Swedish fashion retailer H&M, will take over the position of managing director at the Hamburg fashion label Iris von Arnim from February 1st. The company announced this on Thursday.

In a transition phase, Mindermann will initially take over management together with the founder and creative director Iris von Arnim. In the medium term, von Arnim will move to the company’s advisory board and take over as chairman. Mindermann will then lead the management together with Valentin von Arnim, the son of the founder.

“Thorsten Mindermann is a perfect fit for us,” says Valentin von Arnim. “In a transition phase, I would like to give him space to get to know our company and the brand and to prepare the next chapter together with Iris. I will put my activities on hold during this phase and look forward to running the company together with him afterwards.”

Mindermann worked at H&M for 35 years

By joining Iris von Arnim, the future of Mindermann, who left H&M at the end of November after a 35-year career, becomes clear. Since 2005 he has been responsible for the German market as Country Manager and in 2020 he also took over management for Germany, Austria, Switzerland and the Netherlands. He began his career at H&M in 1988 as a student assistant, as he states on his profile on the career network LinkedIn.

Mindermann’s successor at H&M has already been arranged. Oldouz Mirzaie, who has held various positions at H&M since 2002, has taken on the role of Regional Manager for the Central Europe region.
