The reigning world champion will miss the Jerez tests due to an injury to the index finger of his right hand, but with the German manufacturer he is aiming for the drivers’ and constructors’ titles
Toprak Razgatlioglu’s hunt for his third world championship title in the Superbike World Championship officially started yesterday from Berlin, home to the presentation of BMW Motorrad Motorsport’s sports programmes. In the German capital, the Turkish champion who still dreams of (and chases, in view of 2026) MotoGP wore a completely golden suit for the premiere of an M 1000 RR in original livery with which he will try to confirm himself at the top of the category. “In this new season I start again with the number 1 on the screen – explained the rider from Alanya, already winner of the series in 2021 with the colors of the Pata Yamaha team -. There will obviously be more pressure, but the objective is to always fight for the podium, win the greatest number of races and win both titles (drivers and constructors, ed.)”.

Razgatlioglu has already set his sights on the first round of the season, scheduled for February 21st to 23rd at the Phillip Island circuit in Australia, while he will not take part in the test session organized in Jerez on January 22nd and 23rd. It was the fault of an injury to the index finger of his right hand suffered during training with the enduro motorbike which forced him to stop for a couple of weeks. In Andalusia the Rokit BMW Motorrad WorldSbk Team led by Shaun Muir will present only with Michael van der Mark’s M 1000 RR number 60, for a first check with the stopwatch and with their opponents. Second El Turco the values expressed on the track during last season will not change significantly, with the pair made up of Alvaro Bautista and Nicolò Bulega, both bearers of the Aruba.it Racing – Ducati team, aiming for a leading role in the fight for the top . “In 2024 I learned a lot – added the reigning world champion from the stage of the BMW Motorrad Welt -. The successes obtained in Barcelona and especially in Misano, where the Ducatis are very strong, were fundamental and made me understand that I would able to fight for the title. Then, after the crash (which occurred at Magny-Cours, with the accident that occurred during free practice 2 and the diagnosis of a traumatic pneumothorax in hospital which forced him to missing two events), there was the return to Aragon, with a podium that gave me confidence”.

For BMW Motorrad Motorsport led by Sven Blusch, 2025 will be characterized by continuity, with the continuation of the programs started in Superbike and in the Fim World Endurance Championship. In the first case there will be two M 1000 RRs lined up at the starting line (currently the Federation has rejected the new chassis created in 2024 thanks to concessions, with the consequent prospect of having to use the one derived from the series) by the Rokit BMW Motorrad WorldSbk Team in the twelve rounds scheduled in the world championship calendar. For Toprak Razgatlioglu and Michael van der Mark the season will start in Australia (21-23 February 2025), with two events scheduled in Italy, respectively in Cremona (Acerbis Italian Round, 2-4 May) and at the World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Misano Adriatico (Pirelli Emilia-Romagna Round, 13-15 June). Final in Jerez (Spanish Round) from 17 to 19 October. The team for the World Endurance Championship, however, is made up of Sylvain Guintoli, winner of the Superbike championship in 2014, Markus Reiterberger, Hannes Soomer and new entry Steven Odendaal. Four rounds are scheduled, starting on April 19th from Le Mans.
