Former alpine skier Kalle Palander filed for divorce alone from his spouse Riina-Maija from Palander in January.
The ex-couple has a prenuptial agreement, which was registered at the Helsinki registry office on April 8, 2007.
It is clear from the prenuptial agreement that neither of them has a marital right to the other’s current or future property, their income or the profit that came instead. Finnish law applies to the contract.
The couple’s marriage contract was previously reported Ilta-Sanomat.
The alpine skier has not publicly commented on his separation. Riina-Maija Palander opened up about the beginning of the year in an episode of the Kaksoiselämää podcast. In the conversation, the divorce that had become known came up.
– First of all, my private life is terribly eventful, it might happen there. If I say something now, it will be different next week. Better to keep it quiet, Riina-Maija laughs.
– Let’s see what the future brings, Riina-Maija said mysteriously.
Kalle Palander already filed for resignation in 2021, but the application was later withdrawn. The divorce talks started already in 2020, when the two spent Christmas in different places. The alpine skier had heard the claim that Riina-Maija had enjoyed herself with another man at the Levi World Cup.
– Kalle drew a conclusion based on mere rumours, for example, there is not a single photo of me with other men. It’s just rumours, Riina-Maija told Iltalehte in January 2021.
