The tree that was clumsily placed right in front of a brand new laundry box in Eindhoven was knocked over by strangers last night. Entrepreneur Henri Lanters said this in the Omroep Brabant radio program KEIgoeiemorgen! “I didn’t want this to happen, this wasn’t necessary.”
He finds it particularly annoying that the tree has now been knocked over by strangers. “I think this is bad. I came home last night after picking up my wife. When I got home, that tree was suddenly flat.”
The municipality of Eindhoven was supposed to move the tree on Thursday. “The tree was supposed to be placed in a park on the street behind us. We don’t know whether it would have survived there. But now it certainly didn’t survive.”
Lanters has no idea who gave the tree a push. “I haven’t heard anything from anyone.”
It was a small tree with a big impact. Because that little tree stood right in front of the entrance to a new washing box of Henri Lanters’ car wash. And that’s why not a single car fit in that new box.
Previously, there was also a lamppost right in front of the door, which has already been moved. “It’s actually hilarious,” Lanters previously admitted. “I raised this with some humor, I wondered how this could happen, but I find it very annoying that it is now happening this way.”
The tree had to be moved, but officials did not know where the tree should go. Missing paperwork was the cause, according to the municipality. For example, no ‘exit permit’ had been applied for at the car wash. This is necessary to determine the exact exit from the car wash. Lanters says that he applied for and received that permit.
Municipal workers started working early on Thursday morning to remove the tree.
