A chimney of a house on Kerkstraat in Aalsmeer caught fire in the night from Wednesday to Thursday. The fire brigade was on site to extinguish the fire and warned local residents to keep windows and doors closed due to the smoke development.
An hour later the fire was extinguished. The fire brigade spent some time carrying out demolition work on the roof of the house. Two residents were checked by ambulance personnel for possible smoke inhalation, but did not have to be taken to hospital.
