The Munich team is hitting the transfer market and apparently securing the services of a top German talent. A report reveals further details.
FC Bayern Munich is apparently strengthening itself with a German U20 international. As Sky reported on Wednesday evening, the German record champions are said to have signed midfielder Tom Bischof from TSG Hoffenheim.
Accordingly, the 19-year-old will be moving to Bayern on a free transfer next summer; he is said to have decided not to extend his expiring contract in Hoffenheim. According to the report, the Munich team prevailed over Eintracht Frankfurt and RB Leipzig in their courtship for Bischof.
What’s more: Those responsible at Bayern are said to have given the player a clear perspective at the club – and thus ruled out a direct loan after the transfer. On the contrary, Bishop, who can be used in both central and right midfield, should get his chance to play under Bayern coach Vincent Kompany. In addition, convincing discussions with Bayern sports director Max Eberl and Kompany are said to have been the deciding factor in the decision to move to the Isar.
Kompany himself did not want to confirm the transfer after the 5-0 win against Hoffenheim on Wednesday evening: “I’m the wrong person for exclusive news. I don’t know. He’s a Hoffenheim player now and I haven’t dealt with that yet,” said the Belgian on Sky. TSG coach Christian Ilzer also kept a low profile on Sky: “I can’t confirm it. But I know that there was a lot of interest from FC Bayern. But I can’t confirm that now because he’s a great boy and can do more I don’t say.”
Bischof comes from TSG’s youth team and made his Bundesliga debut in March 2022. In 52 competitive games for Kraichgauer so far, the talent has scored two goals and prepared four more goals. However, Bishop couldn’t change the defeat at Munich – he was substituted after 63 minutes.
