In Beverwijk, a man and his family visit the Beverwijk Bazaar on October 6 to buy a gift for his future daughter-in-law. They carry the dowry in a bag, an amount of approximately €25,000 in cash.
The amount is ultimately not spent because the family finds nothing to their liking. They return to Heerhugowaard with the money still in the bag. There, the man was robbed by two men around 7:15 p.m. Although the robbery itself is not on surveillance footage, there are images of the suspects just before and after the incident.
“Police, police!”
One of the robbers shouted “Police, police!” and pushed the man over. They ran off with the bag and the money. Images show how the suspects run away from the Schepradmolen in Heerhugowaard shortly after the robbery.
One suspect has now been recognized and arrested. The second suspect is still on the run, and the police suspect that a third person may have been involved as the driver of a getaway car. The police are expressly seeking information about this third person.
