Sakari Mäkinen said that he is recovering from a serious accident.

Familiar from the Finnish national volleyball team Sakari Mäkinen got into a serious car accident just over a week ago. On Wednesday, Mäkinen gave fresh information about his condition.
The player published a series of photos on his Instagram account, in the first shot of which he is lying on a hospital bed.
– It was about a week-long morning training trip with a couple of variables, he wrote.

The accident happened on Sunday, January 5, when Mäkinen, representing Akaa-Volley, was on his way to practice. He was transported to Tampere University Hospital for treatment.
– A big thank you to the people of Tays and those close to him, that the man has been physically and mentally put back together, Mäkinen wrote.
Numerous congratulatory messages helped the national team player in his recovery. The other two pictures in the update were taken after getting out of the hospital.
– Now one day at a time towards full recovery and one meal at a time towards the lost kilos, Mäkinen wrote and published a picture of a hamburger meal.
Mäkinen represented Finland at the World Volleyball Championships in 2018. His father is a legendary national team coach Arto Mäkinen.
Sakari Mäkinen has won a WC gold and two WC bronzes in his career. In addition to Finland, he has played in the Netherlands, Belgium and Belarus.
