Competing for the performer of the year award are Miisa Grekov, Osmo Peltola and Mikko “Peltsi” Peltola. They won the program of the year award for their part Laughter marathon 42 hours, Dreams in Italy and Peltsi and Osmo.
Iltalehti reached the finalist Mikko “Peltsi” Peltola on Wednesday, just a moment after the announcement of the finalists. Peltola answered the phone from the ski slope, where he went to clear his head and deal with the shocking news.
– For Osmo, I myself ran a social media campaign, so it was really great! But it’s strange that this actually happens! The field is happy from the track.
The joint program between Pelts and Osmo has gathered enormous popularity in recent months. In the program, father and son tour Finland’s national parks together and explore nature. Viewers have praised not only the educational program but also the relationship between Pelts and his son. 12-year-old Osmo is a Down child. In the series, Osmo gets to learn group skills and how to move in nature together with his father.
– I thought a little beforehand because of the feedback that it would be kind of strange if we weren’t in the top three in either category. Then I wouldn’t have known what I should do with my TV career, Peltola reflects.
– However, it never crossed my mind that we would both be in the top three, he continues.
Peltsi and Osmo have adventures in different national parks in their title series. Over
Peltola jokes that she and her son can get “loud” in the gala audience before the winners are announced. However, Peltola hopes more for his son than for himself.
– Of course I will be happy if I win myself, but honestly it would be great if Osmo won, Peltola says gently.
Peltola says that 12-year-old Osmo went to school in the morning with an excited mind, because the boy really hoped for a place in the finals. Peltola is still not sure if Osmo has already heard the good news.
– Yes, he has been talking all the time about things “when he wins”, Peltola laughs.
According to Yle and Peltola, the joint program between father and son will not be continued for the time being. However, Osmo may visit Pelts in the future Second nature in the program.
