After four years in Major League Soccer, Leon Flach (23) is returning to Europe. The midfielder joins Polish champions Jagiellonia Bialystok. Flach signed a contract with the current Ekstraklasa third team until June 30, 2027, including an option for another season.

Flach was trained at FC St. Pauli and made the jump to the professionals in the summer of 2020. After nine second division appearances (one goal), the talent decided to move to his native USA to Philadelphia Union, where Flach immediately became a regular. He played 116 games (two goals) for the MLS club where his contract had expired. In the 2022 season, he narrowly missed the championship title with Philadelphia in a penalty shootout against Los Angeles FC (3:6).

He is also well in the title race with his new club. Jagiellonia is only three points behind leader Lech Poznan. In February, Flach will also compete in the European Cup for the first time. The Poles will meet the Serbian representatives FK TSC Backa Topola in the intermediate round of the Conference League.
