A day before the cup match between the first teams of AZ and Ajax, the promises of the Alkmaar club in the Kitchen Champion Division set a good example against Young Ajax. Jong AZ turned a deficit into a 2-1 win in Wijdewormer.
After a collision between Ajax player Gerald Alders and Sem van Duijn of AZ, both players had to leave injured. Alders’ replacement, Rayane Bounida, then opened the scoring. It was already his third goal in four substitute appearances. Kees Smit signed for the 1-1 after just under an hour, after which he was substituted for Wassim Bouziane. The debutant only needed five minutes to score the 2-1.
Jong AZ climbs to thirteenth place with the victory, Jong Ajax is sixteenth.
