My student son has found a student room. There are some small jobs to be done. In our family, chores are reserved for the women, that is not for father and son. But now I think he should learn it a bit. I explain to him how to connect a lamp: first turn off the plug, then attach a terminal block to the wires and then switch on the lamp. If the lamp works, he is certainly a little proud of his work. A week later he texts: “Mom, can you bring me another chandelier like that, so I can hang that other lamp too.”
