Wilma Murto has signed a sponsorship agreement with Veikkaus, the value of which is as much as 100,000 euros per year, Over news.
The contract is negotiable to continue until the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics. The giant deal was negotiated by Murro’s manager Tero Heiska.
According to Yle, the contract will be presented on Thursday at the Sports Gala. Veikkaus is one of the shareholders of the Sports Gala.
Veikkaus has previously been known mainly as a partner of national and club teams, so the deal with Murro is exceptional in every way.
In his career, Murto has cooperated with, among others, Red Bull, Puma and Mercedes.
The pole vaulter won European Championship gold in Munich in 2022 and took bronze at the World Championship in Budapest in 2023.
However, Murro’s last season was difficult due to injuries. He finished eighth in the European Championships and sixth in the Olympics.
