Abate’s rossoverdi beat Gubbio and, awaiting Ascoli-Entella, lead group B. Tesser’s team wins the survival clash against Caldiero and moves up the table
Here’s everything that happened on Saturday in Serie C: cover for Triestina regenerated by Attilio Tesser, who is chasing salvation in group A, and for Ternana, provisional leaders of group B.
GROUP A
—
Let’s exceptionally start from the lower areas of the table: because, since Attilio Tesser has been here, Triestina has been traveling at a playoff pace (13 points in six games) despite still being stuck in the fight to avoid relegation. The feeling, however, is that he can get out of trouble soon, continuing at this pace: two penalty kicks converted by Olivieri – seven goals since he returned to the field, after the difficulties with membership – are worth three very important points in the direct clash with Caldiero and the rise to fourth-last place. In the left column of the table, however, the most awaited match on Saturday ends in a draw: 2-2 between Trento and Atalanta U23, with a feat from a free kick by Disanto denying the Bergamo team a victory that seemed in the air (Kraja, who is liked by the Pescara, and Bernasconi had replied to Sam Di Carmine’s initial advantage from the spot, at 2-1 a couple of opportunities to extend failed by Vlahovic). Nice playoff performance for Alcione, who won in Meda on the Renate pitch (1-0), overtaking them in the standings: Palombi’s seventh goal of the season was decisive. More than two months later, Novara savored their home victory again by defeating Virtus Verona (3-0): Ongaro, who has several admirers on the market, with a brace and Calcagni, author of the third goal and two assists, took the lead. Lumezzane’s return to success after seven rounds coincides with the collapse (4-0) of Lecco, where the position of coach Volpe is evaluated: having escaped the danger due to the crossbar hit by Marino, the Brescians break the deadlock with Pannitteri and then take the wide thanks to Monachello’s brace and Ferro’s poker. Pro Vercelli also smiles, overturning Giana (2-1) in Gorgonzola: the opening advantage of the usual Stückler (who was then sent off in the 78th minute) was answered by headers from De Marino for the equalizer and from Comi for overtaking.
GROUP B
—
After three draws, Ternana broke free by overcoming Gubbio (2-1) and for a night, while waiting for Ascoli-Entella, they looked down on everyone: the all-Umbrian challenge was split on the half-hour mark, Cicerelli opened with a free kick (on the foul D’Avino was sent off) and then Romeo doubled his lead with a header, in the second half the guests pulled back with D’Ursi on a penalty (but it wasn’t enough to avoid the sixth away defeat in a row). However, Pescara still remains stuck, without a win in 2025 and third in the standings: Adriatico’s 0-0 draw with Rimini is tight for Baldini’s team considering the posts hit by Moruzzi and Vergani and the wasted opportunities, but the home goal is missing since November 21st and it is not wrong to talk about a crisis. In the fight for survival, a good move by Pontedera who won the direct match against Sestri Levante (1-0) and extended the positive streak: Ianesi scored midway through the second half.
GROUP C

Picerno returns to success, relaunching itself in the playoff zone by overcoming Casertana at the Pinto: Guerra’s goal (1-0) condemns the Campania team to the fourth defeat in a row, despite the change on the bench with Pavanel (now disqualified, replaced by the deputy Zeoli) in place of the exonerated Iori. And in the meantime Messina also narrowly passes over disastrous Taranto, with their eighth defeat in a row (1-0): the match played in Francavilla Fontana, due to the works at Iacovone, remains in balance until the 34th minute of the second half. , when a defensive error by Marong opens the way for Luciani’s goal.
