Immediately after her halftime performance at the Baltimore Ravens-Houston Texans football game on Christmas, Beyoncé announced that something was coming to her fans on January 14th.
Since then, of course, the rumor mill has been churning. In the past, the singer was almost masterful at keeping news secret before it was announced. This applied just as much to the release of new albums as to the launch of special products from their style brands.
Beyoncé: Dates for “Cowboy Carter” tour?
The most likely scenario is that Beyoncé will announce a world tour following her latest LP, Cowboy Carter. Last year she apparently gave way to colleague Taylor Swift to make the big live headlines. With the XXL concept, the 43-year-old could go further and pulverize at least a few records.
“Cowboy Carter,” however, wasn’t quite as popular as “Renaissance,” perhaps because it was primarily a very American record with a country leaning. On the other hand, the songs – including several great cover versions – should perhaps make a formidable impression on stage as part of their own concert section.
The announcement of another album would be somewhat less likely. The musician went on a year-long promotional circus for “Renaissance”. “Cowboy Carter” hasn’t received the same attention so far. So it sounds more like a tour (also because Beyoncé has emphasized in the past how important the new pieces are to her).
Fans long for “The Visuals”
Maybe the legendary “visuals” will also see the light of day. This is a newly produced collection of music videos that are intended to visually support Beyoncé’s previously released songs. Beyoncé already supported her debut as a solo singer in 2014 with a clip for every single song. However, the musician made it clear some time ago that she was not pursuing the project any further for the time being.
So there is still the possibility that Beyoncé will promote a new Queen B product. A new perfume? A whiskey (which would fit the “Cowboy Carter” cosmos quite well)? Maybe even a new brand of sneakers.
In any case, January 14th is not long away. Time for another cryptic clip on Instagram…
