The four had recently stolen eight bronze sewer covers on the Grote Markt in Ypres and loaded them into their car. The Arro Ypres police noticed this after a call from an alert neighbor and asked them to stop, but they fled. Despite the snowfall, they still drove at 150 kilometers per hour on the A19 highway.
One officer was slightly injured during the chase.
