Actor Alec Baldwin is suing prosecutors over the handling of the gun accident in the movie Rust.

Actor Alec Balwdin66 has sued the prosecutors and authorities.

It will work out People– about the civil lawsuit received by the magazine on January 9. According to the article, Baldwin now wants to reveal what Rust– actually happened in the trials of the movie.

Baldwin was charged with manslaughter when the cameraman Halyna Hutchins died on the set of the film in 2021.

Baldwin, who played the lead role, had fired a gun at Hutchins during rehearsals for the scene. A live bullet had remained inside the gun, causing Hutchins fatal injuries.

However, the charge was dismissed. The reason for the rejection was assurances by Baldwin’s lawyers that the police and state prosecutors had hidden evidence related to the case.

He wants the defendants in the case, which include the special prosecutor Kari Morrisey and District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwiesare held liable. According to Baldwin, prosecutors targeted him with a “vicious and illegal chase.”

“Purpose to seek the truth”

According to People magazine, Baldwin is suing prosecutors in the case, district attorney’s officials, Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Office officials and members of the Santa Fe County County Council.

The actor claims that certain prosecutors deliberately hid evidence. According to Baldwin, they wanted to forcefully make him the scapegoat for the tragedy.

In his lawsuit, Baldwin claims that on the fateful day of the shooting, he was handed a prop gun and a member of the film crew yelled at him that the gun only contained dummy rounds.

Baldwin is seeking damages, the amount of which will be determined at trial. He is also seeking punitive damages and attorneys’ fees.

– In criminal trials, the purpose is to search for truth and justice, not to seek personal or political gain or harass the innocent, his lawyer Alex Spiro and Luke Nikas commented to People magazine.
