SSV Jahn Regensburg continues to strengthen itself in the fight against relegation. The bottom of the second division announced the signing of Frederic Ananou (27) on Friday. The right-back, who can also act in the defense center, comes from VV St. Truiden and has a contract until the end of the season. Ananou only made five appearances for the Belgian first division club this season – also due to injury.
“With Frederic, we have signed a robust and dynamic player who can be used as a full-back or as a central defender. With his toughness in duels and his athleticism, he brings qualities that will serve our game well. The aim is for Frederic to be able to help us immediately with his two-league experience,” said sports director Achim Beierlorzer about the fourth winter newcomer.
Ananou, who played 59 games (one goal) in the lower house for FC Ingolstadt, SC Paderborn and Hansa Rostock, added: “I know the 2nd Bundesliga well and know that you can only get out of a situation like this with full will and fight . I am confident that together we will manage to stay in the league and I am looking forward to the exciting challenge at SSV Jahn.”
