Eintracht Frankfurt’s top striker Omar Marmoush has apparently verbally agreed on a move with Manchester City, and the first offer to the SGE is expected to follow shortly. Even though the Hessians emphasized that they did not want to give up the 25-year-old in the winter, they are reportedly preparing behind the scenes for the eventuality of a farewell. According to “Sky”, four candidates are at the top of the list of potential successors.

One of them is national player Niclas Füllkrug, whose tricky situation at West Ham is being closely monitored by the Frankfurt team. The 31-year-old only moved to the Hammers in the summer after a crucial exchange with Julen Lopetegui, but was initially out injured for a long time. He fought his way back in the last few weeks, but now Lopetegui is history with the Londoners and Füllkrug doesn’t know whether successor Graham Potter will rely on him.
According to recent reports, Serie A would also be an option for the ex-Dortmunder. According to the transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio Füllkrug is on the Juventus list. The Bianconeri are looking for a new striker as there is no alternative to top scorer Dušan Vlahović. Being on the pitch regularly would also be important for his status in the DFB team. National coach Julian Nagelsmann is closely monitoring the situation of the fan favorite. A change must therefore be carefully considered. If it doesn’t work out in the winter, Füllkrug should remain on the list of eagle bearers for the coming summer.
Eintracht Frankfurt: Burkardt and Kalimuendo continue to be an issue
The three other candidates are said to be Jonathan Burkardt from 1. FSV Mainz 05, Arnaud Kalimuendo from Stade Rennes and another unnamed striker. Burkardt has been associated with the SGE for a long time. Sports director Christian Heidel recently said in the “Bild” about his protégé, who has already scored 14 times in the Bundesliga: “If a player performs so outstandingly in Mainz, he will of course be interesting for other clubs. If there is a situation where Jonny comes to us and wants to take the next, bigger step, then we will talk. We don’t lock anyone up, the players know that and that’s why they like being with us. But at the moment that’s not an issue for either side, Jonny is in Mainz with all his heart.” He still has a contract that runs until 2027.

Kalimuendo has also been a recurring topic in Frankfurt in the past. In the meantime, it was said at the beginning of last year that there was an agreement with the 22-year-old. The Frenchman moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Rennes in the summer of 2022 for 20 million euros and has so far played 94 games there with 41 direct goals. His working paper is valid until 2027.
