The British fashion company Vivienne Westwood Limited closed the 2023 financial year with increases in sales and earnings. This emerges from a current annual report that was published in the British commercial register on Sunday.

Accordingly, sales in 2023 amounted to 133.2 million British pounds (160.7 million euros). This corresponded to an increase of 31.5 percent compared to the previous year. Sales in its own stores grew by 28.2 percent, but in e-commerce they fell by 30 percent. Sales in the wholesale business increased by 48.4 percent.

Difficult conditions put a strain on the gross margin, and the company also had to record higher operating costs. The operating result rose by only 15.0 percent to 44.2 million British pounds. The net profit attributable to the shareholders amounted to 33.6 million British pounds (40.5 million euros), exceeding the previous year’s level by 8.8 percent.
