A notable absentee from the current season of Ranking the Stars is veteran Patricia Paay. Where has she gone and why has it been quiet around her for months? “I’m lying in bed very sick.”
The Paul de Leeuw show Ranking the Stars is back on the air and the only candidate who joins every week is Patty Brard. Where is her fellow diva Patricia Paay, who has also appeared regularly in this program in the past? The Party wondered, decided to call her and then made a particularly unpleasant discovery: she is very ill.
Patricia critically ill
It is unclear whether Patricia has been invited to the new Ranking series, but she could not have been at the recordings at the moment anyway, because she is not doing well. Very bad.
Patricia is currently confined to bed. “I’m in bed with the flu. I’m really sick, I’ve never felt so bad. I really haven’t had this in a while. I never actually have the flu.”
Well cared for
It’s not like Patricia is alone. She has had the much younger Robbert Hinfelaar by her side for some time now. “And fortunately she is well cared for by her daughter Christina and her sister Yvonne.”
In any case, Patricia has been worrying since 2018. That year she had a new hip, but not much later she fell down the stairs at home and that led to many broken bones. The subsequent operation was unfortunately accompanied by a serious bacterial infection and excruciating pain. So all drama.
Difficulty walking
According to Party it is doom and gloom. “A major disadvantage was, and is, that Patricia barely gets around to working and therefore misses out on a lot of income. And there has been little improvement to date. Previous photos that Party’s attentive photographer managed to take clearly show that Patricia still has great difficulty walking and is in a lot of pain.”
Patricia herself says: “Walking is still not going well. In February I have to go to the hospital in Breda again. I hope they don’t have to open it again. And so we continue.”
