Girls under the age of 18 take noticeably fewer conventional contraceptive pills than ten years ago. At the same time, the morning-after pill is reimbursed much more often, according to a new study by CM Health Fund. Do teenagers find such an emergency pill an excellent alternative to prevent pregnancy? And are there any risks involved? “We don’t really know what the long-term effects are,” says professor Tjalina Hamerlynck (UZ Ghent).
