The source of money in the Champions League continues to flow for FC Bayern Munich after the brilliant entry into the quarter-finals and according to a “Sport Bild” report, a new contract with “Telekom” could ensure even higher income. After the enormous financial losses in two Corona years, 10.6 million euros flowed into the account of the German record champions for the quarter-finals against Red Bull Salzburg – this increases the income to 89.02 million euros from UEFA bonuses alone. In addition, there is an amount in the double-digit millions from the market pool, the total of which will not be determined until the end of the season, as well as viewer income.
Biggest jersey deals in the world: Bayern behind Arsenal and PSG
The main sponsor “Telekom”, which has been on the jerseys since 2002, wants to extend the cooperation with Bayern, which originally lasted until 2023, by three years – the new deal should apply from next summer until 2026 and guarantee the Munich team even more money. The sponsor currently pays 45 million euros per season, from the next season it should be over 50 million euros and this sum could be even higher depending on the success.
A deal of this magnitude would also give the table leader, who is on the way to the tenth championship in a row, additional leeway in contract talks: the working papers of Robert Lewandowski (33), Serge Gnabry (26), Manuel Neuer (35) and Thomas Müller (32) end in 2023. The latter said after the 7-1 win against Salzburg: “I don’t know what happens to the others. And I won’t say what happens to me.”

A push into the semi-finals of the “premium class” would be rewarded by UEFA with a further 12.5 million euros – the final winner on May 28 in the Stade de France in Paris will receive another 20 million euros. Bayern will earn over 100 million euros in the Champions League this season.
