Sports fans know Max Biaggi as one of the best motorcyclists in the world. But from now on the Italian is on skis.

Former Italian motorcycle world champion Max Biaggi has opened a surprising new chapter in his life at the age of 53: The six-time world champion, known as Valentino Rossi’s arch rival, is moving from the racing asphalt to the ski slopes and will now work as a ski school assistant in Selva di Val Gardena in South Tyrol.

Biaggi himself was enthusiastic about his new challenge. He reported on social media that he was surrounded by young people during his training: “Average age 20! I was definitely the oldest.” Nevertheless, he felt part of the group and accepted every challenge.

The experiences in training had a lasting impact on him. “I can’t describe these moments in all their beauty,” said Biaggi. It was inspiring to compare the young people’s attitude to life and their approach to work. He will carry this time in his heart “forever.”

His wish for the future: “In my first lesson I would like to have my children Inès and Leòn as students,” wrote the Roman native.

The four-time 250cc and two-time Superbike world champion struggled with the consequences for a long time in 2017 after a serious accident while training for a Supermoto race. Now Biaggi is starting a completely new adventure full of energy.
