“As you can see, the artwork is finished,” says mayor of Knokke-Heist Cathy Coudyser.

“It is now being demolished and we have instructed the city’s sculpture committee to work with experts to find a new proposal for a sustainable work of art at this unique location.” – The work of art has already been renovated, or at least part of it, why is that no longer possible? “Well, it has already been renovated, but it is a work of art with a steel frame and wooden beach cabins, that’s just how they are in Knokke-Heist and on the coast. We have had to conclude that it is not a sustainable material to use here in weather and wind, in summer and winter periods.”
