Former world champion Julian Draxler has signed a new long-term contract with Qatari club Al-Ahli SC. The veteran is now bound until 2028. According to “Sky”, the ex-DFB kicker rejected all other offers. Leaving Qatar was never an issue. The 31-year-old’s original contract ran until next summer. With the extension, Draxler will now become a club ambassador.

Draxler moved from Paris Saint-Germain to the Qatar Stars League for 9 million euros in September 2023 after he no longer played a role at the top French club. The situation is different at Al-Ahli: Draxler has appeared nine times in the league so far this season, scoring six goals and six assists.

He has a total of 24 scorer points in 26 matches. Draxler’s market value is estimated at 4 million euros.
